Smurf Story Time

Well, they can't all be fight videos. In 1987, shortly after I was gifted my first video camera (thanks Mom - no present in history ever enjoyed more mileage), I tried my hand at "stop-motion" filmmaking. The early video cameras really weren't equipped to produce that sort of animated feature, but I made the attempt anyway. I decided to do my best using some Smurf figurines I had mixed in with my enormous collection of Star Wars figures. The original animation was really, really choppy. I also had no real means of dubbing in good sound effects or voiceovers. Worse still, any mistakes that were made during filming had to be corrected right then and there because at that time I had no editing capabilities whatsoever. Corrections had to made during the shoot because that's all I was going to get. Now, things are a bit different, and I have the editing software to accomplish just about anything that I want to do. In the process of updating and re-editing the hundreds of hours of footage I've taken over the years, I'm leaving nothing undone. Thus, you have before you one of the latest additions to my videos page. It probably won't generate a lot of nostalgia for those of you that might be awaiting (or fearing) the next video that may or may not have YOU in it. But, hopefully some of you might appreciate it a little bit. Unfortunately, there's nobody else to share in the blame for this "smurfy" adventure. I did this one all by myself. I figure that since I will soon be embarrassing enough of you, I ought to take one on the chin before I really get going. Enjoy! Derek Lloyd Lloydel Pictures

Counterfeit Monster Smurfs

Since I got hit the second time with counterfeit Smurfs, I show you what's difference from the authentic smurfs I bought from MushroomVillage.com and the fakes I bought from eBay. If you are collecting Smurf figurines, first go to www.MushroomVillage.com. These figurines are guarenteed authentic, and even give you details. If you want to shop on eBay, be very carefull, and make sure that the Smurf is not on Mushroomvillage. If it is, buy it there instead. If you can only find it on eBay, never buy the ones that say "Hong Kong" on the origin of the items.
